Factors (both positive and negative) affecting the use of\u00a0Web 2.0 tools\u00a0were examined. This study explored the use of\u00a0Web 2.0 tools\u00a0by middle school classroom teachers through the lens of\u00a0Technological,\u00a0Pedagogical\u00a0and\u00a0Content Knowledge\u00a0(TPACK) Framework. An investigation into the influences that contribute to and restrict the use of\u00a0Web 2.0 tools for\u00a0use by middle school was conducted with mixed methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An online survey was made available to educators and analyzed using an exploratory factor analysis. Factors that emerged were identified as: Low&nbsp;TPACK for Web 2.0 Tools, High&nbsp;TPACK for Web 2.0 Tools, and Factors Preventing Web 2.0&nbsp;Implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lowest-rated&nbsp;Web 2.0 tools for TPACK&nbsp;included: social news networks, events, blogs and wikis. Additionally, other Web 2.0 tools&nbsp;were ranked low&nbsp;for Technological,&nbsp;Pedagogical, and\/or&nbsp;Content&nbsp;area use. The highest rated&nbsp;Web 2.0 tools for TPACK&nbsp;included only pictures. Other&nbsp;Web 2.0 tools&nbsp;were ranked high&nbsp;for Technological,&nbsp;Pedagogical, and\/or&nbsp;Content&nbsp;area use. Two factors preventing&nbsp;Web 2.0&nbsp;implementation emerged. Professional development and training, professional development&nbsp;for Web 2.0 tools, and personal interest were the highest ranked factors affecting classroom implementation. Implications with regard to qualitative responses,&nbsp;TPACK, 21st century skills, and Universal Design&nbsp;for&nbsp;Learning are discussed.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hall, A.
