Investigating science and mathematics teacher candidate\u2019s perceptions of TPACK-21 based on 21st century skills. <em>Elementary Education Online<\/em>, <em>19<\/em>(4), 2212-2226. <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.17051\/ilkonline.2020.763851\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/doi.org\/10.17051\/ilkonline.2020.763851<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abstract:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Twenty-first\u00a0 century\u00a0 teachers\u00a0 are\u00a0 expected\u00a0 to\u00a0 have\u00a0 the\u00a0 ability\u00a0 to\u00a0 benefit\u00a0 from\u00a0 collaboration,\u00a0 problem\u00a0 solving,\u00a0 creative\u00a0 and\u00a0 innovative\u00a0 thinking,\u00a0 information\u00a0 and\u00a0 communication\u00a0 technology\u00a0 (ICT)\u00a0 applications. Teachers need to know various pedagogical approaches and appropriate ways to use ICT to \u00a0 support \u00a0 the \u00a0 development \u00a0 of \u00a0 twenty-first \u00a0 century \u00a0 skills \u00a0 of \u00a0 their \u00a0 students. \u00a0 The \u00a0 framework \u00a0 of \u00a0 technological\u00a0 pedagogical\u00a0 content\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0 (TPACK)\u00a0 provides\u00a0 a\u00a0 theoretical\u00a0 model\u00a0 for\u00a0 studying\u00a0 the\u00a0 way\u00a0 teachers\u00a0 use\u00a0 ICT\u00a0 in\u00a0 education.\u00a0 The\u00a0 purpose\u00a0 of\u00a0 this\u00a0 study\u00a0 is\u00a0 to\u00a0 reveal\u00a0 the\u00a0 relationships\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 components that constitute the TPACK-21 scale. The data were collected from 254 teacher candidates at a state university in Turkey from the science and math departments in the academic year of 2017-2018. For this purpose, the relationships between the components\/factors that constitute the TPACK-21 scale were\u00a0 examined\u00a0 with\u00a0 a\u00a0 model.\u00a0 Relational\u00a0 survey\u00a0 model\u00a0 was\u00a0 used\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 research.\u00a0 In\u00a0 the\u00a0 research,\u00a0 the\u00a0 scale\u00a0 developed\u00a0 by\u00a0 Valtonen\u00a0 et\u00a0 al.\u00a0 (2017)\u00a0 determining\u00a0 prospective\u00a0 teachers\u2019\u00a0 21st\u00a0 century\u00a0 skills\u00a0 of\u00a0 TPACK-21 was used. The data obtained in the study were analyzed by structural equation modeling. The direct\u00a0 and\u00a0 positive\u00a0 effects\u00a0 of\u00a0 Technological\u00a0 Content\u00a0 Knowledge\u00a0 (TCK),\u00a0 Technological\u00a0 Pedagogical\u00a0 Knowledge (TPK21) and Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK21) from external variables consisting of binary\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0 fields\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 research\u00a0 are\u00a0 seen\u00a0 on\u00a0 TPACK-21.\u00a0 These\u00a0 variables\u00a0 explain\u00a0 74%\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 change\u00a0 in\u00a0 TPACK-21.\u00a0 TCK\u00a0 is\u00a0 the\u00a0 variable\u00a0 that\u00a0 affects\u00a0 TPACK-21\u00a0 the\u00a0 most.\u00a0 Another\u00a0 important\u00a0 result\u00a0 reached\u00a0 in\u00a0 this\u00a0 study\u00a0 is\u00a0 that\u00a0 teachers&#8217;\u00a0 content\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0 (CK)\u00a0 directly\u00a0 and\u00a0 positively\u00a0 affect\u00a0 TCK\u00a0 and\u00a0 PCK21\u00a0 and\u00a0 this\u00a0 effect\u00a0 is\u00a0 greater\u00a0 than\u00a0 the\u00a0 effect\u00a0 of\u00a0 technological\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0 (TK)\u00a0 and\u00a0 pedagogical\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0 (PK21).\u00a0 When\u00a0 the\u00a0 results\u00a0 of\u00a0 this\u00a0 research\u00a0 are\u00a0 evaluated,\u00a0 a\u00a0 gradual\u00a0 model\u00a0 including\u00a0 CK\u00a0 and\u00a0 PCK21\u00a0 can\u00a0 be\u00a0 proposed\u00a0 instead\u00a0 of\u00a0 a\u00a0 direct\u00a0 technology-based\u00a0 approach\u00a0 to\u00a0 professional\u00a0 development\u00a0 programs developed to increase 21st century competencies of teachers\u2019 TPACK-21s.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ba\u015faran, B.
